About Dan…
After starting out at the age of 12 with Jim Boyle, Dan went on to have spells with Clive Cox and Warren Greatrex, arriving at the Barbury estate in 2010.
He quickly rose to assistant trainer under Alan King, running the ‘Sharpridge’ yard for 12 years, with group and grade one stars such as Trueshan, Yanworth and Balder Success under his care.
In 2025, the opportunity arose for Dan to fully take over the yard under his own training licence, and he has since wasted no time in going from strength to strength, rapidly building a solid reputation of a young trainer with elite potential.

At Sharpridge Farm, Dan is based on the stunning Barbury Castle Estate, set within 2,500 acres of Wiltshire countryside.
The incredible facilities provide a perfect environment to develop and condition our thoroughbreds, offering a diverse range of gallops and training surfaces to cater to every horse’s individual needs.
And with the yard being small and intimate in comparison to most, our owners can look forward to fantastic accessibility and personal service.
